What lesson categories are in Sax School
Lessons in SAX SCHOOL are divided into:
Getting Started: Everything from putting the saxophone together to how to play your first sounds is covered here. These lessons will get your playing sax fast!
Notes and Skills: Get tips on how and what to practice, and brush up on the skills you need to get your playing fine tuned.
Jazz and Pop Tunes: This is where you can learn to play some awesome classic melodies. There are a load of tunes covered here ranging from easy to advanced so you’ll find loads to challenge you and have fun with.
Classic Sax Solos: Find out how to play some of the greatest classic pop sax solos. Each lesson runs through a solo in easy to follow steps and lessons range from easy to advanced.
Are there lessons for alto AND tenor sax?
Yes, there are separate versions of some lessons for Alto and Tenor sax. Some lessons like the “Notes and Skills” lessons are suitable for either. However, you can use a lesson on any sax. All saxophones have the same fingerings even though notes on the alto and baritone sax sound different to the notes on tenor and soprano.
I play soprano sax. What lessons can I use?
Soprano sax is in the same key as tenor so you can use any of the tenor sax lessons. All saxophones have the same fingerings though so you can also any of the other lessons even though the notes may sound different.
I’m new to saxophone. Which lesson should I start with?
It’s a good idea to start with the “Getting Started” section to get your basic skills together. Then, lessons in each of the categories start with easier lessons and get progressively harder. So start at the top and see how you get on!
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Yes, but please don’t go! We are adding new lessons to Sax School every week so there is always something new to keep you busy. If you do want to leave though, here’s how to do it:
I pay using Paypal: Please email us and we will cancel your account Email customer Support
I pay using my credit card: You can cancel your membership directly from within Sax School. Click “My Account” in the top menu on this page and log in if prompted. Then click on your Avatar photo on the far right of the top menu (or the blank head if you haven’t yet added your photo). From there click “Settings” in the drop down menu that appears, then click “Credit Card Info”. Then, just click “Remove Card & Cancel Subscriptions” to complete the process. How will I know about new Sax School lessons?
We will send you an email each time new lessons are added to SAX SCHOOL.
Wednesdays are happy days for Sax School members – that’s the day each new lesson arrives!

Why isn’t my payment card working?
Here are some things to try if your payment card isn’t working when registering for Sax School:
1. Check your card type – We accept most major debit and credit cards + Paypal. Sorry, we don’t accept prepaid cards.
2. Try using a different browser or a different device (or clear your browser’s cache / browser history).
3. Choose your currency – If you have previously bought a course or training from us in US Dollars, you will need to register for the new membership or course in US Dollars (same goes for GBP/ British Pounds purchases).

Sure. Just drop us an email with your lesson request. We do get hundreds though, so please be patient.

Can I change from a monthly plan to an annual plan?
Sure. Annual plans are also available for Sax School. If you would like to change to an Annual payment plan, contact support by email here: firstname.lastname@example.org
I’ve just joined, but I can’t login. Help!
When you complete your registration for Sax School, you should receive a few emails from us. These will go to the email address you used to register.
Check for these emails, and if you haven’t received them, check your spam or junk folder.
One of the emails will have the title: [McGill Music Sax School] Login Details Email. In here you will find your login email and password.
No email? Don’t worry. Email us and we will send your details again, or you can just use the “forgot password?” link on the login page to get a new one.
How can I view my account details?
With the new membership area that’s easy! Once you are logged in, just click on your avatar circle at the far right of the menu. If you’ve added your picture already, that is where you will see it.
From that menu click “Settings”. There you can update your personal info, password and avatar or photo. Click on “Credit Card Info” from that page to update your payment info too.
How can I get new backing tracks into the SaxTracks app?
With the SaxTracks app, you can import backing tracks from your iTunes library.
How do you do this? Just add new backing tracks to your iTunes library on your main computer, then sync your iPhone or iPad with your computer, so the track now appears on your device inside iTunes.
Then, within SaxTracks you just need to do this:
1. Click the arrow in the bottom left corner of the main screen.
2. Tap the big blue import button in the middle at the bottom of the screen.
3. Select “My iTunes Library” from the list.
4. Find the backing track from the iTunes menu you are taken to next and tap it to import.
5. Once the track is imported to SaxTracks and you are back in the SaxTracks app, select your imported track from the list.
6. Tap the back arrow in the bottom left corner of the screen to return to the main recording page.
You are now ready to start recording along with your backing track!
How can I update my payment card info?
If you have joined Sax School after 25th May 2016, this is easy. Just login, then click the circle in the far right of the menu (if you have uploaded your picture already, you will see your picture here instead).
Then click “Settings” and from the top menu click “Credit Card Info”. Here you can update your card details.
If you chose to use Paypal for your membership payments, you will need to log into your Paypal account to update any linked payment card.

The price has gone up since I joined Sax School. Will I get charged more?
Absolutely not. If you joined on a different price plan for Sax School, you will always only pay that price for as long as you keep your membership active.
We really appreciate your support and are grateful that you want to stay a part of Sax School. So, we will NEVER increase the monthly payment you have already agreed to.
Where has the login link for the OLD members area gone?
Now that we have our shiny new (and much improved) McGill Music Members Area, you can now access your account there. With the new members area, you only need to login once to view any course you have purchased from us (Including Blues Mastery or the Sax School lesson library).
If you are unsure of your password to access the new members area, click “Login” then click the “Forgot Password?” link. We will email you a new password.

I’m getting an “Email already taken” error. Help!
If you have purchased a course from us before (either Sax School membership or one of our detailed courses), then you will already have an account with us. If you are getting an “email already taken” error when trying to checkout, this is generally the reason why.
So, first log into your McGill Music account, then go ahead and complete the checkout for Sax School or one of our other courses.

I’m not getting emails about Live Masterclasses!
This could be because you opted to “not receive emails from us” when you first registered. That means we are unable to notify you about the extra live training events. It’s easy to fix though, just follow these steps:
- Log into Sax School
- Click on your “avatar” picture in the top right corner of the menu (if you haven’t yet added your photo, this will just be a head shape image).
- Click on “Settings”
- Make sure all of the “Please email me” boxes are checked.
- Click “Save” and you’re done. Easy peasy!
