Brand new in Sax School this week is a set of lessons where you will learn a great tactic to start improvising over My Favourite Things. These lessons are part of the Jazz Performance Pack over this jazz standard.
What is a Jazz Performance Pack for saxophone?
Learning jazz standards is a great way to improve your saxophone skills. Plus, when you play with other musicians in a jam setting you will need to know some standards – they are the common language amongst musicians.
To help you expand your repertoire of standards on sax, I’ve created a library of Jazz Performance Packs. Inside each one, we dig deep on a jazz standard and learn the melody plus I decode the harmony for you so you know exactly which notes to use when improvising.
This is the important step that most musicians miss, and it’s what makes improvising much easier for you.
How can I start learning jazz standards on my saxophone?
As a Sax School member you have unlimited access to the entire collection of Jazz Performance Packs plus loads of other courses to help you with improvising, technique and skills.
