As a saxophonist, contemporary smooth jazz artist and musical director Nigel's diverse career has seen him perform with symphony orchestras, conduct shows on the worlds greatest stages in London's West End Theatres, lead award winning big bands for tours around Europe, and perform thousands of shows around the world.
Nigel’s saxophone can also be heard on movies and many television shows including the hit USA series “24” and "Bones".
As a musical director Nigel has conducted tours throughout the UK and Europe including performances at London's famous Palladium theatre. And for more than a decade Nigel has managed the orchestra for the award winning production "Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas" for performances in London's West End and throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.
in 2013 Nigel launched his new contemporary jazz project featuring some of the best players in the UK. His contemporary smooth jazz saxophone playing has been described as a blend of Kirk Whalum and David Sanborn and captures the spirit of the American contemporary jazz scene.
Nigel is the founder of the hugely successful online Sax School at www.mcgillmusic.com which has helped thousands of sax players to improve their skills. Sax School is now proud to have members in more than 70 countries worldwide from the UK to the USA and even China!
Although originally from Cairns in the far north of Australia, Nigel, his wife Emma and two sons are now based in England.
